You could win one of four $1,000 shopping sprees* at Fisher Science Education so you can outfit your classroom with cutting-edge teaching tools and supplies. Winners will be the four educators with the most image submissions. 

MyScope™ Outreach gives students a glimpse into the microscopic world around them by means of an interactive, virtual microscope that simulates a scanning electron microscope (SEM). With the continued push in STEM education, MyScope Outreach is an exciting way to get interactive STEM learning directly into the hands of students everywhere. Teachers and students can use MyScope Outreach in correlation with class lessons and units in Biology, Environmental Science, and other STEM curriculum classes.

 

*$1,000 shopping spree through Fisher Science Education where available, other locations will be awarded an “electronic” VISA gift card (additional terms may apply).

To enter:

  1. Send students to MyScopeOutreach and select Explore with the SEM Simulator .
  2. Direct them to explore a sample using the MyScope Outreach SEM simulator.
  3. Instruct them to save their favorite image.
  4. Submit your favorite student images to us.
  5. Let us know how you incorporated MyScope in your lesson plan.

2017 Nobel Prize in Chemistry

Congratulations to the winners of the 2017 Nobel Prize in Chemistry. Three scientists; Dr. Jacques Dubochet, Dr. Joachim Frank, and Dr. Richard Henderson, were awarded the prize for their developments within Cryo-Electron Microscopy.

We are extremely proud of what these researchers and the structural biology community have achieved.
