Increased productivity of the SPA workflow
The Krios G3i and Glacios Cryo-TEMs are designed to be integrated together in an SPA workflow, prescreening samples in the Glacios before imaging them at high-resolution in the Krios. Designed-in connectivity between the Glacios and the Krios not only enhances the efficiency of the pre-screening process for facilities that have a Krios, but also provides a pathway to higher-resolution imaging for Glacios-based laboratories by permitting them to pass samples directly to a Krios at another location for additional analysis.
Enhanced automation and ease of use
Structural biologists prefer to focus on obtaining answers to biologically relevant questions rather than spending time on learning tedious optical alignment processes. The Glacios Cryo-TEM reduces the number of complex alignments that normally need to
be performed. For recurring alignments that need to be done regularly (i.e. auto-coma and auto-stigmate), automated alignment routines have been implemented into the EPU software. This level of automation goes a long way toward making the structural
analysis of proteins, protein complexes, and other biomolecular structures faster, easier, and more accessible than ever before.
