Life Sciences Award
As part of our social outreach program at FEI, we have established a Young Investigator Award. This award will be presented in recognition of a researcher who has recently published their work in a scientific journal and whose research meets the criteria of having significant biological relevance, a high impact on the research community, transparency in materials and methodology for peers, and exemplifies innovation in utilizing a pre-established or new process or methodology in the field of life science research.
Timing: Submissions/Nominations for this year's award will be ongoing until December 31, 2016, for all candidates who have publications in the calendar year. Announcements will be made January 15, 2017.
Award: The top young investigator will earn a prize of $3000 USD and will be sponsored for a talk on their research at Biophysical Society Show and then at additional FEI workshops throughout the year travel/expenses paid.
Rules: First and senior authors only, younger than 35 years at the time of publication.
Judging will be conducted based on Biological Relevance, Impact Quotient, Transparency of Method, and Innovation. The judging committee will be made of a team of FEI life science directors and scientific advisory board.
