The Gatan 70° tilt cryo-transfer system enables frozen suspensions or sections to be loaded into the TEM holder and transferred frost-free at temperatures below -170 °C.

As the entire tip of the cryo-holder is cooled (not just the specimen cradle), temperature gradients around the specimen are small, drift is minimal and specimen temperature is stable and easily monitored.
Customers use the holder to examine frozen suspensions of single particles, 2D protein crystal sheets and frozen-hydrated sections. This holder is recommended if cryo-experiments require tilting of the specimen for collecting tomography data sets.
