Advantages and Capabilities
Fundamental research within the scope of cell biology, structural biology, soft matter and (bio)-nanotechnology requires investigations down to the atomic level. TEMs are of paramount importance to obtain high magnification and high resolution 2D and 3D information of cells and organelles or even smaller cell constituents. A prerequisite for optimal 2D and 3D-tomographic imaging is a high level of tool automation and intelligence.

Focusing on sub-90nm technologies, the Tecnai is configured for the highest S/TEM throughput. Cost per sample is reduced without compromise in performance in S/TEM, TEM and EDS modes. Enabling ultra high-resolution imaging, analysis and characterization, the full featured easy-to-use Tecnai TEMs deliver a complete solution for defect and failure analysis.

Tecnai Osiris™
The Tecnai Osiris™ is a fully digital, high performance 200kV S/TEM system, designed to deliver outstanding performance in all imaging and analytical modes. The combination of a high brightness field emitter and windowless EDX detection using Silicon Drift Detector (SDD) technology lead to unmatched count rates for a given beam current, significantly improved sensitivity for light elements and all in all smart detection of the generated analytical signals. High output count rates give access to minority element detection since statistically significant peak counts can be collected in viable times. Fast mapping reduces the acquisition time for elemental mappings down to the one for a high quality STEM image turning the greyscale image contrast into color-coded elemental information.

Tecnai G² Polara
The Tecnai Polara is a dedicated instrument for cryo electron microscopy. With its incorporated cartridge loading system, up to 6 cryo samples can be loaded and subsequently selected and imaged. The instrument combines ease of use with and optimal contrast / resolution balance which makes it in particular useful for imaging of low contrasted and beam sensitive life science specimen.

Tecnai G² Spirit
The stringent demands of life science and soft matter research require fit and adequate microscopy techniques for imaging and analysis. The Tecnai G² Spirit is designed to meet this purpose with a high level of performance. The microscope is offered in two, patented lens configurations: the BioTWIN for high contrast imaging or the TWIN for general high resolution purposes. The Spirit produces excellent 2D and 3D images with automated functionality featured in a seamless embedded manner.
