Chen Li, Regional Director

Every employee matters.

We’re a global company, but we’re small enough that we bond with each other and have a real family-like sense of belonging. That’s very important, because we have big goals for the company and we need everyone working together to achieve them. I’m always amazed by the passion and ability of my colleagues. We all come from different backgrounds and bring knowledge and experience from different areas. Considering how many complex issues there are to resolve, it’s only natural we have disagreements – and some very heated discussions. That’s a good thing. We need passionate people with strong perspectives to help us find the best solutions for our company and for our customers. We have a lot of respect for each other’s opinions. We come together as a team and everyone is encouraged to say what they need to say. Everyone performs better when the team is functioning well. Ultimately, that makes us all more successful.

If you’re ready to take the initiative, you’ll be given all the space you need.

That’s been true throughout my career at FEI, and I work hard to make it true for others. In some companies, you’ll hear a lot of talk about employees being the most important asset; at FEI we understand how true that really is. We invest heavily in employee training, reward results, and make sure employees have opportunities to take on new challenges and responsibilities. Our network of customers, suppliers and colleagues spans many regions and markets, so you’ll have a chance to develop communication and problem-solving skills that will serve you well no matter where you go or what you do.

The world has become more global, and we’ve been right in the center of that transition.

Technology plays a big role in how we communicate and interact with each other, but attitudes are just as important. Over the years, I’ve learned to be appreciate differences. I see that happening with other people as well. It’s getting easier to work together all the time. That’s very encouraging and I’m proud to be a part of it.
