American Recovery & Reinvestment Act

As a technology innovator, FEI has decades of expertise and experience in the design, development, manufacturing, and operation of the most advanced electron microscope and ion beam instruments. FEI has also demonstrated its ability to deliver programmatic results in large U.S. government projects, and is committed to helping scientists go beyond the state-of-the-art.

For instance, as a result of FEI’s early commitment to the development of the next generation aberration correction TEM/STEM technology, FEI was chosen as the microscope manufacturer for the Department of Energy funded TEAM Project, a collaboration of four national laboratories and two industrial partners. The Project has successfully met its technical goals, including delivering spatial resolution of 0.05 nanometers for real-time structural imaging in both TEM and STEM modes of operation.

Technology advancements implemented in the “TEAM 0.5” Titan have enabled a number of scientific breakthroughs.
